Alexandra asked Andrew to be gentle with his baby brother. "Will is sick, Andrew." These words may be repeated often.
Tiny baby William does, indeed, have CF after all. We are worried about the news, but encouraged that it seems to be a mild, if unusual, case. Perhaps it can be controlled, or managed, or made tolerable with treatment. The down side is that as a rare deviant of the condition, perhaps it is not being funded for study as are more prevelant cases. It makes sense, logically, academically, but that is little comfort to those who pray for his improvement.
Yesterday, when Alexanda was getting ready to leave for their apartment in D.C. I felt a real sense of sorrow. I was thinking that it is awful that a tiny, wonderful baby would have to struggle just to grow & maintain his proper body weight ratio. He does have many advantages, however. His parents and his wonderful older brother, Andrew, are three such blessings.
Andrew is, to employ one of his superlatives, 'awesome.' I am encouraged that as these two brothers grow up they will be a great support for each other. These are intangebly beautiful things.
